We spent some time in Hiawassee this weekend for the 76th Annual Georgia Mountain Fair, and this little North Georgia mountain town is such a fun escape. The fairgrounds sit right on beautiful Lake Chatuge, surrounded by mountain views — seriously, look at that backdrop! 😍

The Georgia Mountain Fair brings together live music, arts & crafts, carnival rides, local history, fair food and plenty of that small-town North Georgia charm.

But even when the fair isn’t happening, Hiawassee is worth the drive. Come up for the lake, mountain scenery, outdoor activities and a completely different pace from Metro Atlanta.
