Lippes Mathias is pleased to have represented 5324 Rogers Holdings LLC and Brierwood GC Holdings LLC in the $3.48 million acquisition of Cloverbank Country Club in Hamburg, New York, which will now return to its former name, Brierwood Country Club.

The deal team was led by corporate practice team partner Thomas B. Hughes and real estate practice team partner Anthony M. Kroese, with support from banking & financial transactions practice team senior associate MacKenzie E. Hamill and the firm's director of tax, Devon R. McDonald.

New York is offering eligible businesses a real discount on outstanding sales tax assessments: pay the tax, half the interest, and none of the qualifying penalties under the new PAID Program. The catch is that beginning in 2027, every sales tax vendor must re-register for its Certificate of Authority, and any unresolved fixed and final liability can get that certificate denied.
