Over his more than 20 years as our managing partner (starting in the early 1980s to the mid-2000s), Bill Mathias was known as much for his wise counsel as he was for his genuine investment in the junior lawyers at our firm, who, today, have gone on to become standout members in the legal industry and their communities at large.

In the spirit of Bill's commitment to shaping and inspiring the next generation of attorneys, we are proud to launch the William E. Mathias, II, Class of '71 Scholarship and Clerkship in partnership with Bill's alma mater, the University at Buffalo School of Law, which will be awarded annually to a 2L student in finance or corporate law who reflects the integrity, respect, and leadership that defined Bill's career.
