EFF has been promoting some of their old articles recently. This one is always a goodie. Password managers can be a great tool. Not only will they store and fill in your passwords, but you can set them to generate passwords according to certain rules, some will scan the sites where hacked accounts are posted (like haveibeenpwned) and alert you if your account shows up.
Additionally many have form fill functions and “in case of” features that will allow a trusted person to access the account Incase you are incapacitated or die. I personally use LastPass but there are a few really good ones out there. Give the article a read and watch the video.
And as much as I don’t like them saying to keep a written record, a printout of passwords from LastPass saved me when my wife passed away a number of years ago. We had it in our safe. LastPass will print it out for you if you tell it to.
