Today is my second day at the Shapiro Environmental Law Symposium at George Washington Law School in Washington, D.C. I'm enjoying a fascinating discussion on private environmental actions on climate change with business leaders, lawyers, and academics from around the world.

At 11 AM today the WV Delegates will vote on HB2506, nicknamed the "Cancer Creek Bill." This bill will lower public drinking water standards in West Virginia. I heard the public debates live on the House Floor in Charleston. Afterward, many people told me environmentalists need to "keep emotion" out of their arguments. Honestly, I don't many men understand the true level of fear that a change in drinking water standards causes the average American Mother. I'll join you in talking the brass tacks of governmental policy, if you'll join me in watching this short documentary about how one Mother coped with the effects of the Freedom Industry Chemical Spill with her two young children. We need men and women to commit to finding a "golden mean" between the economy and the environment. We can get there if we both use our minds and our hearts. Thank you for listening.

Went to Charleston on Monday for the Environmental Day of Action. Enjoyed meeting with Senator Patrica Rucker, Delegate S. Marshall Wilson and Delegate Patrick Martin. Also got to see David Manthos working hard at his new job.
