Where have I been in the last year or so?

Interesting question but I am back now and anxious to reconnect with everyone again.
While I haven't forgotten all of my friends and customers, I realize that it has been a long time since I have been in touch. I am back now and anxious to update you all on my life changes so we can move on and I can continue to keep you informed on the status of the real estate market.

I had both knees replaced last year, and that occupied a lot of my time! The recovery was much longer than I anticipated, but I am back to walking daily now.

Many of you know that in 2021, I moved from Naples, Florida to Western North Carolina. I loved living in my house with an awesome view of the Smokey Mountains and an Airbnb apartment. 2022 was a fantastic year in real estate in North Carolina, and I met some wonderful people and helped them find second homes. Most of my customers were from Florida! I love everything about western North Carolina; the scenery is amazing and every day there was something beautiful to see on my travels. I missed my family, though, so the big news is in October 2023, I moved to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and now sell real estate in Southern Ontario, as well as Naples and western North Carolina.

Growing up, I lived in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, where my family still live. After 40 years away, I decided now was the time to return home. My sister and niece live in Burlington, but with the average sales price for real estate around $1million, I live in Hamilton! My other niece and her daughter live in Hamilton, only 5 minutes from the house I rent, so I am close to everyone.

I live on the Hamilton mountain, not a mountain by North Carolina standards! I love it here, close to my family and everything I could possibly want to enjoy. While I enjoyed the scenery and beauty of North Carolina, the pull to be with my family was very strong.

I am renting a small house right now, and I have included a picture below. These small bungalows are prevalent on the Hamilton Mountain. I live on the main floor in a very small space, but I find I have plenty of room. My partner, Tim, is a long distance truck driver in the States and comes home every month for a few days. This little house is in a great location and I have enjoyed getting to know the neighborhood on my daily walks

I have joined three book clubs, a women's social group, and women's networking group, and am meeting lots of new people. I even found an American Women's Group here in Oakville and have

started to attend their functions. Most of the women have been in Canada for many years, but it is still nice to talk to other women who understand the American way of life.

I joined Keller Williams Edge Realty in Burlington, Ontario and am part of the Wilson Realty Team at the office. Spending more time in an office environment is completely new to me, I have worked at home since the beginning of COVID. But, my house is small and it is nice to get back into an office and interact with other people again.
