Summer was fun. And somehow, suddenly, it’s fall.

Summer always seems to fly by, but I swear time moves differently in staging. We can stage an entire house in a day, pack up, and before we’ve really had a chance to take it all in, we’re onto the next one. One house becomes another, one week rolls into the next, and somehow an entire season has gone by.

But sometimes it takes the end of the season for me to realize, somewhere in all of that, RSR grew.

Not just in the obvious ways. We took on bigger projects, expanded the kind of work we’re doing, pushed ourselves creatively, worked through some growing pains, and learned a lot about what this next version of RSR needs to look like.

Some parts of growth are exciting. Some are challenging. Most will always involve moving an unreasonable amount of furniture.

But we’re heading into fall with some pretty big ideas about where we’re going next.

Summer has officially checked out. Fall season has begun and keys are jingling.

Over the past few months, we’ve been staging our way through this multi-unit development in Dorchester.

At our site preview in May, we created a staging strategy across three different suites: two fully staged units to anchor the development plus a third where we focused specifically on the main living spaces to help buyers better understand the layout.

Different units. Different needs. One strategy designed to support the development as a whole.

And as homes sold, that strategy evolved right along with them.

Now, after a few moves within these walls, we’re officially packing up and checking out of 54 Dorset.

This is a small glimpse of Unit 6. Stayed tuned as we showcase the others throughout the week.

If you’ve been on one of our job sites lately, chances are you’ve already met her. She’s the one waving enthusiastically at every contractor before she’s even fully parked.

Now it’s time we wave back.

I’m so excited to officially check in Lorena Soriano as Room Service Retold’s newest Suite Stylist. 🛎️

Lorena is a master of many. She has a BFA in Fashion Merchandising and, funny enough, like me, has worked as a graphic designer in the corporate space. Since then, she’s earned her real estate license, just purchased her second flip home with her husband (who happens to be a professional painter if you’re looking for one), and spends her weekends tackling renovation projects.

She recently made the leap to leave her full-time position to help shape our client experience behind every sold stage.

But here is the thing. When I say took the leap, I mean jumped.

In her very first week she conquered FOUR stages in FIVE days.

No hesitation. No hand holding. Just, “Show me the mood board and I’ll run with it.”

Lorena is organized, driven, endlessly curious, incredibly professional, and has the kind of positive energy that makes every job site better the moment she arrives. She literally gives me a hug every morning before we diving into the day.

Most importantly, she believes in where RSR is going and what we’re building. She understands that this job isn’t just picking out pretty furniture. Staging must be met with strategy to create impact. You cannot just throw furniture in a room and call it sold.

I’ll admit it, but some days I’m building the plane as I’m flying it. It takes a special kind of person to look at that and say, “I call shotgun.”

So if you see her on a project, at a property, in your inbox, or running around Greater Boston with a tape measure in one hand and a lampshade in the other, be sure to say hello, Lorena Soriano | Designer & MA REALTOR . You’re guaranteed a big smile and an even bigger wave.

We’re pretty lucky to have her. Thanks for checking into the chaos, Lo. You’ve officially got your keycard! 🗝️

Happy Father’s Day to RSRs most reliable volunteer… except on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday during its golf season. I’m pretty sure nobody told you that retirement just means you start working for your daughter but you probably could have figured that out when I started bossing you around at a young age.

Thank you for driving the truck, breaking down the cardboard, getting us gas, helping with the books, bringing the boys lunch, putzing around HQ, asking 47 questions before every project, getting off the golf course to help pick up uhauls, bringing me Starbucks, letting RSR use your basement and garage and then kicking us out of your garage, and always showing up whenever the bell rings!

Your compensation package remains unchanged, but you’re a dad, and that’s what dads are supposed to do!

RSR wouldn’t survive without you, financemark! Thanks for making my dreams come true Dad 🩵

When clients order Room Service, Retold for real estate, this is what it looks like.

A year of heavy sofas, fast agreements, repeat neighborhoods, and behind-the-scenes work that never makes the grid. Long days, countless site visits, designs refined and reworked, and clients who trusted the process from start to finish.

Closing the year out strong with one more stage before 2026. January is booking up, and the reservation desk is ready for service.
