This Vid produced last year but still in effect. I have been a TINY cow calf producer since 2002...grass permitting I'll try and "holdover" my best offspring acting sort of like a Background Ranch mentioned here...this to enable selling a much larger/heavier animal = more $$ I Been ravaged by drought twice in that time....equipment expenses, fuel, feed and weather costs usually prevent any real profit. The only profit for many small operations is in the property tax savings (Ghost Money) for ag valuation vs market value taxation. I call working cows the "Effort Tax" for earning Ghost Money...I'm down to 8 producing cows here as result of this years lack of rainfall and wil not regrow the herd. Wondering how longthis will last with respect to fuel and equipment repair costs? The hourly pay is always the same $0...I actually see the GREEN NEW BS eventually forcing cattle production out of this country...so they can claim saving the environment all the while destroying the earth mining for lithium and cobalt...hope I'm wrong, hate it when I'm right!
