Yesterday the governor signed HB 437 creating new Florida Statute 720.3045 which allows backyard storage in an HOA. We expect this bill to cause quite a mess. Read on to get the details and to learn whether this law applies to your HOA.

The 2023 Florida Legislative Session has come to an end, and one of the first laws to be signed by the governor is House Bill (HB) 437 concerning flags, displays and outdoor storage in homeowner associations. HB 437 creates new Florida Statute 720.3045.

My son attended a Montessori school for the first 9 years of his educational career. One thing that stood out to me during his tenure there is that Maria Montessori, the founder of the Montessori educational method, insisted on grouping children of different ages together in one classroom.

Porges Hamlin Knowles & Hawk, P.A. seeks a Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join our team in downtown Bradenton. The role requires a detail oriented individual capable of working independently. The Bookkeeper / Office Manager provides support to a team of nine Attorneys, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliation, payroll, and some human resources work, including time-off records and profit sharing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accounts payable / receivable
• Oversee office operations
• Employee insurance changes as needed
• General ledger
• New hire paperwork
• Bank reconciliation
• Enter data, maintain records and prepare reports
• Deposit funds to 401k and profit sharing accounts
• Payroll

CORE COMPETENCIES
1. Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

2. Data entry skills with a knack for numbers

3. Problem Solving / Analytical Skills

4. Proficient with Microsoft Office

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; related experience preferred. We will train the selected candidate
