Recently the MCBA and the YLD held Java With the Judges! Manatee Bar members and our local judiciary gathered for an early morning coffee hour to greet the Judges from the Florida Second District Court of Appeal who were in town to hear Oral Arguments.

Have you visited the artwork on the 5th floor of the Manatee County Courthouse recently? Back on April 15, 2021, board members helped update the artwork from students in Manatee County.
We’ve all experienced challenges in the last 18 months and for families struggling financially, new concern on how they will be able to purchase the needed school supplies to help their children have the same opportunities to start the new school year are weighing heavily.
But don’t worry! We can help you help them! 😊
The Young Lawyers are hosting a school supply drive for the "Littles" at Big Brothers Big Sisters Suncoast- Manatee County! All you need to do is grab some pencils, notebooks, or other supplies, or make a financial donation and we’ll take care of the rest. The drive starts today and runs until August 4th (so you can take advantage of the tax-free event!). Thank you for helping the future of our community.

The Manatee YLD has been busy this month! During my term as President, we used our AOC funds to partner with Safe Children Coalition to provide transitional starter kits for youth aging out of Foster Care. Special shout out to members Melissa, Anisley and Kari for putting together the starter kits and working to make this happen.
On Friday May 14th, in honor of Health and Welness Month, the Manatee YLD hosted a 5k on the beach for all members of the Manatee County Bar Association. Thank you all for coming out, enjoying the beautiful weather, and getting a little exercise in. Special thanks to Dustin Wagner at Lightning Law for organizing and sponsoring the event.
