When you hear the words estate planning, what comes to mind? If you pictured a mansion, a yacht, or a billionaire's fortune, you're not alone. But that isn’t what
estate planning is about.

For most people, estate planning starts with something much more personal.
Maybe it's the family farm that's been passed down for generations. Maybe it's the baseball card collection that took decades to build, the quilt that Grandma made, or the recipe box everyone hopes stays in the family.

Estate planning is one way to help preserve those stories while giving the people you love clear guidance for the future.

National Estate Planning Awareness Week is a reminder that some of the most important family conversations should not be about the possessions, but about
the lives connected to them.

🚜 Think of long-term care planning like tending a family farm. You don't wait until the fence is broken to buy the posts. You don't wait until winter to stack the hay. You prepare a little at a time because you know it makes tomorrow easier.

Long-term care planning works much the same way. It's talking with your family, making decisions while you can, understanding your options, and putting a plan in place so it's ready whenever life calls for it.

Good planning is taking care of the people and the life you've worked so hard to build.

The FREE Empowered Aging Resource Fair on October 22 in Bowling Green is a great opportunity to connect with local organizations, explore caregiving resources, and learn more about Medicare, elder law, and estate planning. Kentucky ElderLaw is pleased to be part of this community event, with attorney John Dotson presenting "Elder Law & Estate Planning: Protecting Your Future" from 11 a.m. to noon.

Join us at First Christian Church from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring your questions, explore your options, and take advantage of the knowledge and resources available right here in Bowling Green!

For many families, learning about Medicaid comes with more questions than answers. That's where Eurica Billinger shines.

Drawing on more than 17 years of Medicaid experience across hospitals, long-term care, and elder law, Eurica helps clients understand each step of the application process and what to expect along the way. She believes that knowledge helps build confidence, and she enjoys helping families feel more comfortable navigating unfamiliar territory.

When she’s not helping Kentucky and Indiana families, Eurica enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, photography, reading, attending sporting events, and keeping herself busy learning new skills. At the moment, she's discovering the joys of both crochet and gardening.

One week from today, our Kentucky ElderLaw team will gather for the Louisville Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

We’ll be walking for the people we love, the families we serve, and everyone in our community whose life has been changed by Alzheimer’s. Each step will carry a story, a memory, and the hope that future generations will know a world without this disease.

There is still time to help us reach our $2,000 fundraising goal. If you are able to donate, we would be deeply grateful to have your support with us on October 18.

Every good resource fair gives us the chance to meet people outside the office and hear what questions are on their minds.

Republic Bank's Benefits & Resource Fair offered plenty of opportunities for both. Kelly Gannott, Tsonare Gawonisgi, and Kimberly Alonzo spent the morning talking with associates about elder law and meeting other professionals serving the Louisville area.
