JHTL - Suffolk University Law School Journal of High Technology Law

JHTL - Suffolk University Law School Journal of High Technology Law JHTL is Suffolk University Law School's journal for exploring the growing frontier of technology law.

JHTL is student-run by an Editorial Board of past JHTL staff members. Students who become JHTL staff members are able to receive academic credit for working on a piece for publication, cite-checking, and writing a book review. The Editorial Board coordinates and supervises the research and writing development for all JHTL staff members. Staff members are selected through the summer write-on compet

ition, and membership is open to all students who qualify, not just those concentrating in Intellectual Property. A unique feature of JHTL as a Suffolk Law Honor Board is its ability to publish all articles online, which allows members to publish their materials while still at Suffolk. Making articles available on Westlaw, Lexis, and the JHTL Web site allows members of the legal community direct access to our timely articles, notes, and case comments. For more information about the JHTL, please contact us at [email protected]. If you are interested in submitting an Article for publication, please review our policy on Article Submissions at www.jhtl.org. The Journal of High Technology Law is a proud member of the WebCite® Consortium. The Journal of High Technology Law has adopted the National Conference of Law Reviews Model Code of Ethics: 75 Marquette Law Review (1992).

The Journal of High Technology Law is pleased to announce our Fall Symposium will take place on Tuesday, October 25th at 6:00PM, and will discuss cybersecurity threats in the American energy sector. The event will cover how both private entities and regulatory agencies are addressing these cyber-attacks. Attendees will also learn about the legal frameworks that regulate energy producers and electric utilities. Plus, attendees earn CLE credit. We are fortunate to have Carleton Simpson as our keynote speaker.

About Carleton - Carleton Simpson was appointed to serve as a Commissioner of the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission in November 2021. Prior to his appointment, Carleton worked for a major utility responsible for developing regulatory compliance pertaining to FERC and NERC electric reliability standards. In his role, Carleton was responsible for leading clean energy strategy efforts before legislators and regulators in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, and federal delegations. Carleton has extensive experience working on matters pertaining to electricity and natural gas distribution and transmission, cyber security, electrification, decarbonization, and energy market regulation.
