Medical Wednesday: Football season is underway, and with it comes the risk of sports-related injuries—including clavicle fractures, or broken collarbones.
The clavicle connects the breastbone to the shoulder and can fracture from a direct impact to the shoulder or a fall. Clavicle fractures can cause significant pain, swelling, and difficulty moving the arm, and treatment depends on the nature and severity of the fracture.

Dr. John Naranja, MD, JD, is a former orthopedic surgeon and now a practicing attorney at Diller Law. His medical training and experience help him bring a unique perspective to understanding and evaluating complex injuries.
