Our small team is committed to advocating for our clients' rights and ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve. We are currently seeking a dedicated paralegal to join our firm and support our mission.

Job Summary:

The paralegal will play a vital role in our firm by assisting attorneys in managing insurance claims. This position involves close interaction with clients, managing cases, corresponding with insurance companies, reviewing medical records, and providing support to our legal team. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals facing health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management: Assist in managing case files from initial consultation through resolution, including organizing, reviewing, and maintaining case documents, records, and evidence.

Document Preparation: Draft, review, and file communications with clients and insurance companies.

Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and address inquiries. Exhibit empathy and professionalism in all client interactions.

Discovery Process: Assist in the discovery process by gathering evidence and managing responses. Coordinate with medical professionals and other experts as needed.

Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to attorneys, including coordinating case-related activities, and maintaining organized case files.

Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients’ needs by providing thorough and accurate information to support their claims and facilitating communication between clients and legal professionals.

Qualifications:

Education: College degree, or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field.

Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.

Software Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, empathetic, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

He believed funding legal aid was a “moral obligation.” He told lawyers that advocating for legal aid funding was a chance to speak “for all those who have neither money nor power, but who might have the law on their side, if only they knew how to use it.
