On May 1, 2026, attorneys from across Massachusetts gathered in the Boston Common to re-take their oaths to uphold the Constitutions of the United States and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Law Day of Action was part of a national effort by the Nation of Laws Coalition with events in over 70 cities across the country. Hosted by president-elect Samuel A. Segal of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the event featured speeches by the Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court Allison Cartwright; former Chief Judge of the Massachusetts District Court Mark L. Wolf; and the presidents/chairs of the Massachusetts Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association, and the LGBTQ Bar Association.

On May 1, 2026, attorney Samuel A. Segal, as President-Elect of the Massachusetts Bar Association, is co-hosting the second annual Boston, MA Law Day of Action 2026 event. This is part of a national effort to bring attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals together to rally in support of the free and fair right to practice law, represent clients of all types, and be free from harassment and threats.

The Federal Court recently fired a warning shot to all attorneys and clients who use AI. In the case U.S. v. Heppner, the Southern District of New York found that the federal government could access all of a person’s Claude AI search history relative to the case the government brought against them. We are pleased to announce attorney Brandon R. Calton, Esq. is joining the Law Offices of Samuel A. Segal as a litigation associate. Brandon earned his Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2023, where he was a member of the Honors Program and earned academic recognition for excellence in legal writing and advocacy. During law school, he gained hands-on litigation experience through clinics and internships that emphasized client representation, courtroom advocacy, and strategic motion practice.
