🌉 Okay Boonville... WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH THE KATY BRIDGE?!
This piece of our riverfront has quite a history.

The current Katy Bridge was built in 1931–32 for the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, replacing an even older bridge dating back to 1873.

After rail service ended, its future became a pretty big debate. There were plans at one point to remove portions of the bridge, but after years of discussion and legal battles, ownership ultimately transferred to the City of Boonville with hopes of preserving it and someday incorporating it into the Katy Trail.

And more than 90 years after it was built... there it stands.

So let's have some FUN with this.

If money, engineering, and logistics weren't an issue, what would YOU turn the Katy Bridge into?

🏡 Boonville is home to some absolutely GORGEOUS old houses.

The craftsmanship, woodwork, staircases, built-ins, fireplaces... there are details in these homes that you just don't see in new construction.

One that still sticks with me is 611 High Street. 😍 That home had so many beautiful original features and so much character.

Starting at historic Thespian Hall, riders will head out through the rolling countryside of Cooper County with three different route options:
