Y’all, I learned something in one of my Notary class in NC that I thought was pretty interesting. 👀

Have you really LOOKED at your new driver’s license?

These new licenses have several security features built into them to help make them harder to duplicate or fake.

👉🏽 First, rub your finger across your license. You should actually FEEL some of the raised areas on the card.

👉🏽 Now look toward the bottom right corner. Hold your license at different angles and look through that clear area. You should be able to see your picture.

👉🏽 Here’s the one that really got me! 😂 Look closely at the tiny black print around the SC symbol near the clear area. That little print actually contains information from your license, including your birth date. In North Carolina, the microprint contains the cardholder’s name.

And there are even more security features built into these new IDs.

With identity theft, scams and fake identification becoming more sophisticated, states are making driver’s licenses harder to duplicate and counterfeit.

As a Notary, this is exactly why we don’t just look at the picture on your ID. We’re trained to pay attention to the ID itself. 😉
