As Veteran's day approaches, I feel compelled to remind everyone that just because a soldier returns from the war zone doesn't mean that the battles are over.
Who's got my six?
I'm going to make a bet, without being pessimistic, that out of my hundreds of friends, that less than 5 will take the time to put this on their wall. You just have to copy it from my wall and paste it to yours. Then type done on my wall. I've done this for a friend to spread Awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We lose approximately 22 Veterans a day to PTSD. More needs to be done to help Veterans in need. 🇺🇸

One day, when Covid is left behind, I'd like to have a drink with the people who like this post. A martini, glass of red wine, white wine, whiskey, a beer, a tequila, champagne, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, lemonade, water, whatever you choose!

Many families don’t do proper estate planning because they don’t believe that they have “enough assets” or believe that their children will be able to divide their assets by themselves. If you don’t make proper legal arrangements for the management of your assets and affairs after your passing, the state’s intestacy laws will take over upon your death or incapacity. This often results in:

* The wrong people receiving your assets
* Higher estate taxes
* Your estate undergoes probate- an expensive, public, court-supervised proceeding
* Assets may remain in possession of the court for a long period of time before beneficiaries receive them
* Family feuds over property
* Minor children are left without a guardian of your choosing
* Your wishes regarding medical decisions may not be carried out if you have not left legally valid directives

Every adult can benefit from having an estate plan, regardless of wealth. You don’t need to have substantial financial assets or be elderly to start planning.

An estate plan ensures that anything you own at death is distributed according to your wishes. It also involves strategies to minimize potential estate taxes and to coordinate what would happen with your home, investments, business, life insurance, employee benefits and other property in the event of death or disability.

A good estate plan also includes directions to carry out your wishes regarding health care decisions in the event that you cannot give the directions yourself.

Estate plans are especially important if you are married and/or have children. If you want to ensure your loved ones are taken care of, having an estate plan is essential.
