Brett, so sorry to just now be catching up from yesterday, Trust, thanking you for taking the time to meet with us, via Zoom, has been my “ #1 Priority!”
Wonderful to finally match your face to your voice!
Want you to know I actually fell asleep last night, with my phone in my hand, composing this email.
It cannot be denied, that because of you, and your partners, my brother is where he is, and progressing inconclusively.
Dr. Andy told recently told our dad and I, and I quote, “Josh’s life is uncharted territory,” Dr. Andy has done EXTENSIVE research and told us he could not find a single case study where ANYONE with an Anoxic brain injury has lived past one year.
I was by Josh’s side for 6 years, doing everything I could on my own, but he was “idle,” NOT progressing.
Because of YOU and YOUR team, we were able to bring in around the clock Nursing, which was SO DESPERATELY needed. The highest level of doctors came on board, a team, one could only dream to be able to source, hence why we refer to them as “The Dream Team.” Their expertise in innovation has brought this to where we are today with Josh. Dr. Bender’s exact words to me after his first treatment said, and I quote, “ I can not believe it’s been 6-years and yet feel this is JUST the beginning.”
Around the clock Nursing has not “just" brought the help we needed, but have been able to build a team whose spirit and happiness keeps Josh “present,” and uplifted throughout the day. Josh had never laughed or smiled before your joining Team Josh. I didn't know he had the neurological capability to even form such an emotion. Now, Josh in conversations, and laughs appropriately throughout the day. His smile is contagious.
I believe we can all agree it’s impossible Josh is even alive today, and yet, just since you’re coming on board, it’s proven, with innovation, Josh’s life span has now changed forever!
Josh’s life care plan 1-year ago would NOT be what it will be today.
I believe, “everything happens for a reason.” And with that said, what are the chances, COVID would hit, all cases be pushed out, we be introduced to you, and your faith to put Josh’s life under your wings, brings us to this moment in time! What are the chances?
By having Josh’s team of therapist with him every day is not only making his body but also his brain stronger.
With Josh’s team of experts by his side, there is only more innovation they want to expand on. With today’s science, the world of medicine is finally catching up and recognizing, further, granting accolades to innovative medicine. Options for Josh’s recover, to my understanding, and limitless.
Post Josh’s “incident, in 2017, I had to fight through layers and layers of chaos as doctors and nurse, clearly had, what they thought, was the gift of persuasion to convince our parents to pull the plug on Josh because. Medical records document: Josh had “No brain stem reflexes", “Any chance for a meaningful survival are dismal", “There is no warrant for dialysis for a man with little to no chance of survival,” “Chance for survival is non-existent.”
THEY WERE WRONG.
EVERY THING THEY EVER TOLD US WAS WRONG.
I KNEW Josh was inside.
I KNEW Josh wanted to live.
This was his choice, not theirs to make.
I begged our parents for a day, then a week, then a month, then a year. And here we are, 6+ years later and Josh is advancing like wildfire.
Guess what HCA/West Hills Hospital, THERE IS NO PLUG TO PULL ANYMORE ON JOSH!!!
My brother is alive because he wants to be and now, because of you Brett, and your trust/faith, in Josh’s progression, his life-span, hence evaluation/calculation of his life care plan, does not just establish the current cost, but their individual cost evaluation from his world renowned experts determining my brother’s life expectancy which is in “uncharted territory,” making, what I, a common person, apply statistics can, and I entrust, will be argued.
You and Priority Funding ARE the miracle Josh absolutely needed and in return, has put us to where we are today and for that, Josh and I want the best for EVERYONE, who has stood by to help support him.
Josh and I want to see an incredible return for not “just him, because he DESERVES and IMO, is entitled, to every option possible for recovery. However, Josh and I have a heart of gold and we want to see an exceptional return for you and your company.
Maybe our dream team should be on every case you take on. Lol

I want you to know, on Josh’s right arm he has a tattoo, written in Korean I believe. It translates to “Challenge Destiny.”
Josh has clearly/is most definitely, living up to the words forever enscribed on his body, which are a part of his soul!
