The Patent and Trademark Office is extending deadlines and waiving fees in light of Covid-19. The PTO remains open and is fortunate that it already had an extensive telecommuting program so it has adapted well to the current situation.

Good news for Redskins fans - as you may know, the Washington Redskins lost the ability to protect their brand name because a court held that the name is "disparaging." Well, the law against disparaging trademarks was just found to be unconstitutional.

The U.S. government can’t reject trademarks for being disparaging or offensive, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday, citing constitutional free-speech protections.
