Some background on the deal covered by the Daily Business Review: The companies went into receivership after 'Retreat at Palm Beach' shuttered suddenly in June 2024.
Boca Raton-based Beighley, Myrick, Udell, Lynne + Zeichman leveraged its cross-disciplinary legal capabilities in a successful closing of a $15.6 million real estate transaction that resolved a hotly contested foreclosure case in receivership involving a prominent behavioral health facility site in Palm Springs, Florida.
"We're not scared if some of the parties are resistant to a sale taking place," Zeichman emphasized, demonstrating their firm's willingness to push through the challenging legal landscape.
Key to their success was a deep understanding of both transactional work and court procedures. "It's very important to understand the bid procedures," Zeichman advised. "The rules are written by the court, and you need to take an active role in making sure it's going to be a fair process."
“Our experienced team of attorneys worked closely with many parties to overcome the various challenges involved,” Lynne said. “This property sale ultimately positions the site to resume helping people dealing with behavioral health issues, and create employment opportunities and much-needed tax revenue for the village with an exceptionally well-regarded national provider.” Beighley Myrick specializes in complex real estate transactions, zoning entitlements, and bankruptcy restructuring.
