Tax Tip Tuesday‼️

Did you know you can get a tax credit up to $3000 for installing a storm shelter from the State of Alabama?

The tax credit is equal up to $3,000 or 50 percent of the total cost of the construction, acquisition, and installation of the qualified storm shelter at the primary residence, whichever is less.

The tax credit may not decrease a taxpayer’s tax liability to less than zero.

This credit must be applied for the year it is installed. Please apply online immediately after install or consult your tax preparer for assistance.

Right now this credit is available thru 2028.

Tax Tip of the Day 💸💸💸

If you have a child born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028 they are eligible for a Trump savings account.

The account will recieve an $1000 deposit, the money will be invested in the stock market by private firms, and the child can access the funds when they turn 18.

Parents and guardians can elect to open Trump Accounts for eligible children when they file their 2025 taxes.

Renewal applications for CHOOSE Act Alabama open on December 15!
Returning students from the 2025-2026 academic year and their siblings can reapply for up to $7,000 in an education savings account for each participating student for the 2026-2027 school year.

The renewal application portal will be available December 15, 2025 – March 31, 2026. Funds can be used to cover approved educational expenses such as tuition, tutoring, educational therapies, computers, school supplies, and more.

Returning families for CHOOSE Act Alabama will receive a link via email on December 15 to submit a renewal application.

New applicants can apply starting on January 2nd, 2026.

Hello clients, as tax season approaches I am going to go over and keep you updated on some new tax deductions.

Today we will start with one of the new tax deductions due to Trump‘s one big beautiful bill.

The next four years you can write off car loan interest if you have purchased a new car and financed it after December 31, 2024 with the vehicles final assembly located in the USA. 

Maximum annual deduction is $10,000.

Deduction phases out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $100,000 and $200,000 for joint.

Vehicle leases do not qualify.
