Day was founder of the Race Judicata for charities, served in women’s prisons as an advocate for battered women, and studied law in Europe, with Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor as one of her many esteemed professors. Day worked in the Office of General Counsel for the S.C. Department of Mental Health, practicing in probate courts throughout the state, providing legal counsel to staff regarding probate, real property, medical benefits and billing and serving as hearing officer for the Department's Setoff Debt Collection processes. She also served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science for the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Day then joined private practice in circuit courts across the state in the areas of FDCPA and debt collection litigation. She has spoken professionally on Collection of Accounts Receivable, Judgment Enforcement, FDCPA, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Day currently focuses on probate and family law. She is a member of the Beaufort County Bar, the Hilton Head Island Bar, and SC Women Lawyers Association. She is licensed to practice in South Carolina, U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina, and the U. Supreme Court, is Chair of the SC Bar and Beaufort County Bar Pro Bono Committees, Programs Director for the Hilton Head Bar and a running coach for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training and Girls on the Run.
