Congratulations to Kourtni Douglas who secured a summary judgment in favor of a national restaurant franchise. The personal injury case arose out of a slip and fall that occurred in the restaurant lobby. Kourtni established through witness testimony that the defendant did not breach any duty owed to the plaintiff. Plaintiff attempted to avoid summary judgment through expert opinion testimony; however, the Court agreed that Plaintiff’s expert’s opinions “were based on speculation and unsubstantiated by any direct evidence.”

The matter was dismissed with prejudice.

Both the firm and Walter Price were recognized as a Band 3 firm for the United States. Delaney is originally from San Diego, California, and is a graduate of the University of Alabama. She attended the Cumberland School of Law where she was a member of the Cumberland Law Review and served as an Admissions Ambassador.

CMP would like to announce that Kourtni Douglas and Jordan Lenard have joined the firm as associates.

Kourtni is also a graduate of the Cumberland School of Law. While in law school, Kourtni served as a senior associate editor of the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and as the public interest chair on Cumberland's Public Interest and Community Service Organization.

Jordan is graduate of the Cumberland School of Law, where he was a member of Cumberland's nationally-ranked Trial Team and the trial advocacy board. While in undergrad, Jordan was a scholarship athlete on Indiana University in Indianapolis's golf team.

We are immensely thankful for the support and encouragement from all of our clients, friends and families as we have grown from creation to eighteen attorneys in two offices.
