Congratulations to Kourtni Douglas who secured a summary judgment in favor of a national restaurant franchise. The personal injury case arose out of a slip and fall that occurred in the restaurant lobby. Kourtni established through witness testimony that the defendant did not breach any duty owed to the plaintiff. Plaintiff attempted to avoid summary judgment through expert opinion testimony; however, the Court agreed that Plaintiff’s expert’s opinions “were based on speculation and unsubstantiated by any direct evidence.”
The matter was dismissed with prejudice.
