❄️ Weather Update ❄️ Jefferson County Courts are closed tomorrow due to inclement weather. Our office remains open and working remotely to continue serving our clients. Please stay safe and warm!

The State Circuit and District Courts in Jefferson County, both Birmingham and Bessemer, will close tomorrow due to potentially hazardous road conditions caused by inclement weather. Jurors summoned for service should report on TUESDAY, JANUARY 27 at 1:00pm. Stay safe!

Walking the halls of Fairfield High Preparatory School 18 years after ’s own senior year was absolutely surreal. 💜💛

had the privilege of speaking with some amazing seniors about her journey to becoming a lawyer. The challenges, the wins, and the lessons learned along the way.

To stand where she once stood as a teenager with big dreams and now pour back into the next generation was beyond rewarding.

In celebration of Juneteenth, EMW LAW is closed through Monday as we honor the history, resilience, and enduring strength of Black Americans. This day reminds us why we do the work—to protect rights, advocate for justice, and build a legacy rooted in freedom.

We’ll resume regular business hours on Monday morning.

Today, we honor the brave. We remember the legacy.

This , EMW LAW pays tribute to the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

We also recognize the powerful roots of this day: On May 1, 1865, newly freed African Americans in Charleston, SC, held one of the first Memorial Day commemorations—honoring 257 fallen Union soldiers with songs, prayers, and a march toward freedom.

Their remembrance laid the foundation for the tradition we uphold today.

We remember. We rise. We honor.
