I have served on the Grievance Committee many times throughout my career. I was very honored to be selected as Chair this year. We take our job very seriously and we do not put up with lawyers that cross the ethical lines in their practice. We also know disgruntled clients sometimes abuse this process because they were dissatisfied with their outcomes for vengeance. This Committee diligently investigates each grievance seriously and makes the proper recommendations to the State Bar.

Amanda and I again imparted our great legal wisdom 😂 at the Alabama Deaprtment of Workforce (previously Department of Labor) convention at Perdido Resort before about 85 insurance adjusters from across the country yesterday.

Today I was honored by my peers when I received the Robert W. Lee Award for Excellence. Bob Lee set the standard in Alabama for legal professionalism, advocacy, and was well respected by all who knew him on both sides of the Bar. Receiving this award bearing his name is truly a privilege.

We’re getting more information about a former Walmart employee in Cullman was arrested on child po*******hy charges. One child’s family is suing claiming Walmart knew about Ethan Richardson’s alleged inappropriate behavior.

The “marketing” people tell us we don’t update this page enough😂. So, a couple things going on. Steve will be a presenter at 2 upcoming seminars. On May 17, along with the Honorable John Pennington, Steve will speak on the topic of “The Interaction Between Social Security Disability and Workers’Compensation, Recent MSA Updates and Mediation Observations”, sponsored by The Alabama State Bar Workers’ Compensation Section. Also, on May 26, Steve will be a Panelist on a Zoom seminar on the topic of “Appellate Mediation Issues and Strategies”, along with 3 of the other top Appellate mediators in the state, sponsored by The Alabama Academy of Attorney Mediators. Finally, the firm is proud to announce that Steve recently accepted an appointment to the Alabama Supreme Court Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution, representing the Alabama Association For Justice. Steve’s current practice now consists of 70% mediation and 30% litigation. This is his 35th year practicing law. We appreciate your continued support and business. Thank you!!

I am honored to have been recently named as a Mid-South Super Lawyer. In addition, the Alabama State Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Section recently created a Judicial Education Committee, and I am proud to have been selected by my peers, along with seven other lawyers statewide, to help educate our state judges on workers’ compensation laws.
