Retained just four weeks before an expedited hearing, partner Clint Speegle secured a significant penalty reduction for Alabama State University in an NCAA infractions case.

Due to Clint’s efforts, the NCAA Committee on Infractions downgraded the violation against Alabama State from Level I Aggravated to Level I Mitigated, the lowest classification available in the case. Under the decision, the football program will pay only the minimum financial penalty of $30,000 plus 1% of the football program's budget and serve three years of probation — with no impact on the team’s eligibility to compete.

We had the best kind of afternoon at the firm on July 22!

Lightfoot partnered with Magic Moments to celebrate Gracie, a 7-year-old from Moody who lives with Williams Syndrome, congenital heart disease, pulmonary artery stenosis and other significant medical challenges. We threw her a pink princess party and surprised her with a video message from Mickey, Minnie and some of her favorite characters, letting her know she's going to Disney World in April!

Gracie met Olaf, ate cookie cake, opened presents and chatted with some of our attorneys and staff about her big trip.

Gracie, we loved celebrating with you. Have the most magical time at Disney!

Ten years of WOLF!

At "Earned Favorites," our 10th annual Women of Lightfoot summer event, six of our attorneys each shared a favorite thing they reach for when things get hard and the lesson that came with it. Every item came with a truth, and every attendee went home with the one that spoke to her, from gratitude journals to gardening gloves.

Thank you to the clients, judges, business leaders and friends who joined us for an evening of learning, reflection and connection. See you next year!
