Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating Anna Traylor’s well-deserved promotion to Senior Associate with a luncheon at Fleming’s, where we were delighted to have Anna’s family join us for the celebration!

Divorce doesn’t always have to mean war.

One of the biggest misconceptions about divorce is that being reasonable means being weak. It doesn’t. Sometimes the strongest decision you can make is knowing which issues are worth fighting over and which ones are only costing you time, money, and peace of mind.
A good family law attorney isn’t there to create conflict. We’re there to protect your interests, give you a realistic picture of your options, and help you make decisions that still make sense six months or six years from now.

When a case needs to be fought, we fight it. When it can be resolved without unnecessary warfare, we work toward that too. The goal isn’t to “win” every argument. The goal is to get you to the other side in the best position possible.

We’re proud to announce Kim Steele's promotion to Legal Services Coordinator!

Over the past seven years, Kim has been an integral part of our team and a familiar, friendly, face to so many of our clients. Her new title of Legal Services Coordinator recognizes the role she has already taken on within our firm — helping our clients, supporting the attorneys, and keeping countless things moving behind the scenes.

Outside the office, Kim stays just as busy. She’s a mom of three, with children ranging from 11 to 21, and a lifelong sports fan. 🏀 She has coached recreational basketball for eight years and recently expanded her time on the sidelines by becoming an Alabama high school football official.

Before joining our firm, Kim built nearly two decades of experience in retail and accounting, giving her a strong background in working with people, organization, and keeping things on track. And something you might not know about her: Kim is a triplet and the only girl among her four siblings.

When she manages to find a little downtime, Kim enjoys watching sports and action movies. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Attorney Spotlight 🌟

This week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on one of our attorneys! Meet Brooke-Anne Freeman.

A second-generation attorney, Brooke-Anne grew up with a firsthand look at the legal profession through her father, a longtime attorney. She went on to attend the University of Alabama, graduating in 2014 with a double major in Business and Political Science, before earning her law degree from Cumberland School of Law in 2017.

After graduation, she served as the YWCA liaison at One Place Metro Family Justice Center, working directly with victims of domestic violence and assisting with protection-from-abuse matters—experience that gave her an even deeper understanding of just how important compassionate, effective advocacy can be for families going through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. She subsequently founded and ran her own private practice before joining our team.

Outside the office, life stays plenty busy! She and her husband are parents to a baby girl and four cats—two black cats, a fluffy calico, and a white deaf cat with heterochromia. 🐈

When she finds a little free time, you’ll probably find her crafting, hand-embroidering, reading, antiquing, or tackling another renovation project around the house.

We’re proud to have her as part of our team and hope you enjoyed getting to know a little more about the person behind the attorney!
