🚨 **SCAM ALERT: “SOMEONE TRIED TO OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT IN YOUR NAME!”**

You receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from your bank. They say someone tried to open an account using your identity.

They sound professional. They may even know your personal information.

Then they offer to “protect” your money or identity—but first, they need you to verify information, provide a security code, or move your money.

**STOP! This could be a scam.**

🚩 They ask for your password or verification code.
🚩 They tell you to transfer money to a “safe” account.
🚩 They pressure you to act immediately.
🚩 They tell you not to speak with anyone else.

🛑 **HANG UP.**
📞 **CALL YOUR BANK** using the number on your bank card or official statement.
🔎 **VERIFY** whether an account or application actually exists.

**Remember: Your bank will never need you to transfer money to a “safe account” to protect it.**
