The house my grandfather❤️💔 specifically chose for me to inherit was burned to the ground in the Altadena fires. Along with every childhood memory within the city I’m from. That’s personal. But facts still matter.
Karen Bass didn’t have jurisdiction over Altadena. If local leadership were the cause, Altadena would still be standing. 📠 Two different areas, two different systems, same devastation. That tells me something.
The idea that one offline reservoir could have saved everything doesn’t hold up. The real issue was extreme winds that grounded aircraft and made firefighting nearly impossible. Not politics. Not one decision. But nature at its worst. 💨
We all have the right to hold leaders accountable. But blaming the wrong person doesn’t rebuild what was lost. For me, either, and personally.
Bass for Mayor, AGAIN. Leadership that moves people inside and moves the city forward. Homelessness down with one of the largest drops in years. More than 23,000 people brought indoors. Encampments and crime trending down. So much more.
A Black woman. Just like me. So I have LIVED the obstacles she has faced. Public health background. Just like me. University of Southern California graduate. Just like me. A LIFETIME doer, not just a talker. JUST LIKE ME.
First woman mayor of Los Angeles. 🤯
And she’s running again. Victory Lap.🏁
