Today, despite the United States Supreme Court lifting the stay regarding the Corporate Transparency Act, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued additional guidance stating that filing a BOIR (compliance with the Corporate Transparency Act) is still voluntary because the Supreme Court’s ruling only addressed the one ruling and a national stay remains in place.
