ABOUT NEGAR

Real estate is in Negar Souza’s blood. As the daughter of a real estate agent, she grew up spending her weekends at open houses and learning the ropes of the business. “I used to go with my mom on tours, even during the week,” says the Albany, Calif. native. “I learned first by observing, later by practice.” She received her BA in interior architecture from San Francisco

State and became a licensed real estate agent in 2005. Negar shares her mother's passion for the world of real estate. “There is always something exciting about this business,” she says. “I enjoy helping people with the entire process of buying or selling a home. It involves a lot more than simply finding a place to live.”

Negar brings a unique level of expertise to the business in comparison to her mother. Beyond her youthful energy and comfort with technology and social media, she is a Certified Residential Specialist, CRS® and Senior Real Estate Specialist, SRES® which offer her a unique point of view to every transaction. “I love being able to look at every transaction from a different perspective,” she says. “Each client is unique, each set of circumstance, unique but every objective is the same and that’s doing the best for every client with integrity, tenacity and efficiency.”

Negar resides in the El Cerrito Hills with her husband and three beautiful children. She is extremely active within her community, sits on the advisory committee at Red Oak, volunteers at her children's schools and is affiliated with various local executive boards. ABOUT FERI

Feri grew up in Tehran and moved to the United States at age 18. A UC Berkeley graduate, she holds a master's degree in fine arts and brings an artist's sensibility to her professional real estate career. Feri describes herself as friendly and straightforward. A rarity in the business, she works in both residential and commercial real estate. “I recognize that these are very different skill sets, but I find that each discipline can actually complement the other, creating a more well-rounded knowledge base.”

“We always encourage our clients to explore their ideas about what a house will do for them,” Feri says, “but most importantly, we keep their interests at heart.”

Finding the right agent changes everything. And we know — figuring out where to even start can feel overwhelming.

That’s exactly why we’re here.

What we love about Soren’s experience is that it went way beyond just finding a home. It was about getting the full picture — the finances, the market, what’s actually realistic for where you are right now. Those are the ingredients that make a smart decision. But the secret ingredient? Helping you see the long-term return. That’s the stuff that gives people real clarity — and that’s what we show up to do every single time, especially for first-time buyers who are doing all of this for the very first time.

There’s a lot of noise out there. We cut through it. Give you an honest path forward. That’s the whole job.

Soren, we’re so grateful for you. Reviews like this genuinely mean the world to us. 🙌🏽

WE NEED YOUR VOTE!

El Cerrito isn’t just where we work — it’s where we live. 🫶🏽

For years, we’ve quietly poured into this community we love. We’ve helped build up our public schools, supported the theater, the arts, and local sports, and created scholarships for our kids. We’ve helped local businesses buy and rent so they could stay. We’ve kept teachers in their community, helping them put down roots right here.
Not for praise. Not to shout from the rooftops. Just because we believe it takes a village — and this village raised us, too.

If our work has ever touched your life, your business, or your family, we’d be so grateful for your vote for Best of El Cerrito. 🗳️

Thank you for letting us serve the town we call home.

I met and started working with this incredible family since 2022. Yes, 2022 — not a typo.

They had a growing family, big dreams, and a clear vision: a mid-century home with a view, room for the kids, and numbers that actually made sense. I love a great dream. And I love turning dreams into reality.

They were thoughtful, careful, and knew exactly what they wanted — so there was no reason to rush. Beyond the home feeling just right, it had to make financial sense too. I’d send them only the special ones. They’d look, sometimes visit, but only if something truly grabbed them. Over four years, we wrote maybe 3 or 4 offers.

They’d often tell me they worried I was getting tired, almost apologetic about the timeline. And sure, some agents would’ve moved on. But that’s not how I work. As long as they wanted to keep moving toward the goal, I was in — no question, no pressure, just here for the ride.

Then it happened. We found the one. A stunning mid-century with the view they’d been dreaming of. We negotiated, landed it over $100K UNDER asking, and the sweetest sellers passed the torch to buyers who couldn’t have deserved it more.

This one is one for the books. Four years of patience, trust, and partnership — and I got to watch their kids grow, make real friends along the way, and help them reach a dream that mattered.

Welcome home, M & K (and the boys, of course!). Thank you for trusting me with the journey. 🏡♥️

922 Carmel Ave, Albany — where roots run deep. 🌿

Some homes you move into. Others, you move into a neighborhood. This is the second kind.

Step inside a story already started, where inlaid hardwood floors greet you at the door and an arched doorway leads you in. A hearth that’s seen a hundred winters anchors the living room. A dining room made for Sunday suppers and holiday tables. A kitchen ready for its next chapter. A bay window seat for slow mornings with coffee in hand.

Outside, a deck made for slow summers and a garden tended with love — roots, literally.

Tucked into one of Albany’s most beloved blocks, this is a home to put down roots. And room to grow into whatever comes next.

This is a good one! 💫 Read until the end!

P & K came to us outgrowing their current home but knowing one thing for sure: they wanted to stay in Oakland.

We worked together on and off for several months — learning the market, exploring neighborhoods, and narrowing down what really mattered to them. Eventually, they found a home they fell in love with and we made an offer.

The glitch? Inspections turned up a long list of issues and a stack of open permits. We negotiated, we waited, and the deeper we dug, the more problems surfaced. I told them straight: this isn’t the one, and I’m worried about what comes next. They walked away.

Fast forward a few months, and we found another home that seemed too good to be true. Turns out, it sort of was — it was a short sale. After three months of heavy negotiating with the bank, we closed. Short sales are a team sport: listing agent, lenders, buyers, sellers, escrow — everyone has to show up, nothing can slip, and everything takes longer than you’d like. With a lot of patience and a lot of pushing, I finally handed them the keys and we made it happen, together!

The funny part? This photo is AI-generated. Only one of them could be there in person, so which one got added in? Ha — Scroll to see!(And for the record, they added themselves!)

Welcome home, P & K! 🏡♥️🙌🏽 thank you for your trust and allowing us to be a part of this journey.

Some homes don’t show you everything at once. 🌿

969 63rd Street is one of those. Built in 2016 and full of light, this NOBE charmer surprises you room by room — sunshine pouring into the kitchen, a primary suite with peekaboo city views, a tucked-away office that asks you to slow down, and a backyard that’s basically a tiny urban farm (yes, fruit trees and raised beds included).

Then there’s the wisteria-draped arch. The cottage shed out back. The cat door knocker that greets you before you even step inside.

I met H through a mutual colleague who trusted me enough to make the introduction, and we hit it off right away. From the start, I was so excited to help her step into a new chapter — one she’s writing entirely on her own.

Why does that matter? Because becoming a homeowner as a strong, independent woman is a huge accomplishment, and getting to be part of that journey is genuinely inspiring.
H had a healthy budget, but the competition right now is fierce, and her checklist looked a lot like every other buyer’s in her range. So when I caught wind of an off-market home that needed a little polishing but checked every box on her list, I jumped on it. She fell in love, we moved fast on an offer, and 15 days later we closed.

Welcome home, H! I can’t wait to see what you do with the place. 🏡♥️
