New videos show wrong-way Jeep moments before crash that killed Massachusetts State Police trooper

Authorities said Trooper Kevin Trainor was killed around 2:04 a.m. Wednesday, after his cruiser was struck by a wrong‑way driver on Route 1 in Lynnfield, Massachusetts.

According to state police, Trainor had just finished a work detail and was on his way home when a 911 call came in reporting a wrong‑way driver traveling on the highway. As troopers responded, Trainor’s Chevy Tahoe was struck head‑on by a Jeep Wrangler traveling in the wrong direction.

A garbage truck driver shared a dashcam video with Boston 25 News News showing the wrong-way Jeep speeding past him in the Broadway tunnel at 2:02 a.m.

In the video, the driver is seen blowing his airhorn and reaching for his phone to call 911.

1 dead in Marion County crash involving school bus, Florida Highway Patrol says

A 76-year-old man from Silver Springs has died following a crash with a school bus on Wednesday.

It happened on State Road 40 near SE 177th Avenue near Silver Springs.

Lorie Provancher said she was driving behind the school bus on Wednesday when the bus attempted to make a left turn.

"If you were there, you'd be saying the same thing. I have no idea what was going through the bus driver's mind. At all. To make that turn," Provancher said.

The Marion County Public Schools confirmed the bus was carrying a driver, an aide, and four children between the ages of 5 and 10 from Maplewood Elementary. All passengers on the bus were unharmed.

Provancher described the aftermath of the crash, saying the truck driver wasn't able to get out.

"The gentleman was screaming for someone to get him out of his truck. All we could do was I was on the phone with 911, frantically, and my daughter and the other witness were trying to let him know that help was coming. There was nothing else we could do at that point; you couldn't get to him from either side of the car," she said.

The man was taken to the hospital, but he later died.

The Florida Highway Patrol said they believe the bus driver failed to yield the right of way while attempting the left turn.

The Marion County School District stated it will wait for the FHP to issue its official accident report before determining any disciplinary actions.

The School District said the bus is equipped with cameras, but they wouldn't release those videos, citing student privacy.

A string of school bus-related incidents in Florida last month has raised questions about student safety.
