What happens when your document **does NOT include a notarial certificate or notarial block**?

At Wesby-Magee Notary Services LLC, we can help explain the difference—but **the signer must choose which notarial act is appropriate for their document and situation.**

🔹 **ACKNOWLEDGMENT**
An acknowledgment confirms that you **signed the document voluntarily** and that the signature is yours.

🔹 **JURAT**
A jurat involves the signer **swearing or affirming that the statements in the document are true**, followed by signing in the presence of the notary.

⚠️ **IMPORTANT:** A notary generally cannot choose the notarial act for you or determine the legal purpose of your document. If your document does not contain a notarial block, you may need to ask the document preparer, attorney, court, lender, or other appropriate authority which certificate should be used.
