Congratulations to High Desert Law’s Chloe Thompson for being named the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association's 2026 New Lawyer of the Year! Chosen by her peers, this award recognizes her tireless advocacy and deep dedication to the Central Oregon community.
Chloe is a second-generation attorney who handles complex catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Beyond her legal expertise, she is deeply committed to empowering survivors. She guides her clients with compassion, helping them leave traumatic events in the past and find their path forward.
Her leadership extends far beyond the courtroom. As the OTLA New Lawyer Governor and an active voice on the Legislative, Membership, and New Lawyer committees, Chloe works tirelessly to improve our legal community. Add in her recognition as a three-time SuperLawyers Rising Stars honoree, and it is clear why her peers selected her for this honor.

We’re so incredibly Grateful to Jay Blakesberg and his team for coming to Bend and turning their lens toward High Desert Law—not simply toward the lawyers, but toward the clients, families, and stories that give this work its meaning.

All the years combine in a photograph: what someone has lived through, who stood beside them, and the road that brought them here. Jay has a rare gift for seeing all of that in a single frame.
