PÆRE is the second of four residences at HJEMSTED, a limited collection of Scandinavian-inspired homes by Terrain Signature Properties, set on a historic orchard site in Normandy Park.
Named after the Norwegian word for pear, PÆRE carries a character distinctly its own. Where EPLE is luminous and warm, PÆRE is deeper, more considered, and rooted in its surroundings.
Every major design decision — from orientation and window placement to material selection — started with the site itself. The result is a home shaped by natural light, west-facing views, and a lasting connection to place.
PÆRE has the widest main-level footprint in the collection. Polished concrete floors, floor-to-ceiling teal cabinetry, natural oak, and handcrafted zellige tile come together in a warm, grounded interior. Upstairs, vaulted ceilings define a primary suite oriented entirely toward Puget Sound, while the most curated garden in the collection, designed by Studio Terrain, brings the landscape right up to the home.
