If your Maryland Q3 estimated tax payment was scheduled for automatic withdrawal, but you don’t see the debit from your bank account yet - don’t panic!

Maryland recently transitioned to its new Maryland Tax Connect system. This, along with other system updates, have caused delays in processing recent Maryland payments.

If you’ve checked your payment status and it isn’t showing in the new system, allow 7–10 business days for the system to update before taking further action.

🚗Mileage Rate Increase for the Second Half of 2026!🚗

Did you know the IRS has increased the standard mileage rate for business use of a vehicle?

📅 January 1 – June 30, 2026: 72.5¢ per mile
📅 July 1 – December 31, 2026: 76¢ per mile

Good record keeping matters, so you have the correct documentation you need at tax time. If your expense report includes business mileage from both halves of the year, make sure you’re using the correct rate based on when the miles were driven.

It may only be a few cents per mile, but those miles can add up! .
