It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, but this is one local spot I think deserves a little extra love right now — Cypress Wetlands in Port Royal.

With all the construction happening in the area, getting around may look a little different right now, but don’t let that keep you away.

Right in the middle of Port Royal, the Cypress Wetlands is a beautiful little piece of the Lowcountry where nature has been preserved and wildlife continues to thrive. Take a walk along the boardwalk and you never know what you’ll see — herons, egrets, turtles, alligators and plenty of other native wildlife. 🐊🦅🐢🌿

And while you’re there, take a little extra time to explore Port Royal. Stop in the shops, grab a bite to eat, have a drink, and support the local businesses that are still open and welcoming customers through all the construction. ❤️

Roadwork is temporary, but these places and the people behind our local businesses are part of what makes our community special.
