Judge Guy Holdridge brings 34 years’ experience as a former appellate court judge and judge of the 23rd Judicial District Court. Recognized for fair and impartial decision-making, he now channels his expertise into mediation, offering insightful guidance and facilitating constructive resolutions.

In 2014, he was elected to the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal without opposition. Prior to that, he served as a judge in the 23rd JDC beginning in 1991. As a district court judge he conducted hundreds of civil and criminal jury trials as well as settling hundreds of civil cases. He is a member of the LSU Law Center Hall of Fame.

Judge Holdridge has further served on the adjunct faculty of the LSU Law Center for over twenty-five years and currently teaches Louisiana Civil Procedure. Since 2021, Judge Holdridge has served as the editor of the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure published by Thomson Reuters. He is also the Director of the Louisiana State Law Institute.

Before ascending to the Bench, Judge Hill tried numerous cases in both State and Federal courts, representing injured plaintiffs, defendants, and their insurers. From the Bench, Judge Hill presided over numerous jury and bench trials; he conducted hundreds of settlement conferences in all kinds of cases including serious personal injury cases, insurance disputes, intellectual property disputes, FLSA, Title VII cases, etc., settling over 95% of these cases.

As founder of Helm Law Firm, Mike Helm maintains a solo practice in Covington. Prior to his 16 years with a maritime firm, he worked offshore in wireline operations and thereafter, sold boat landing systems to oil companies for offshore platforms.

Admitted into the Louisiana Bar in 1988 and Texas in 1994, Helm has represented claimants and defendants in litigation in Louisiana and Texas over the past 38 years. A seasoned arbitrator and mediator with over 14 years of experience, he regularly serves as a neutral in construction, commercial, and procurement disputes spanning industrial, commercial, residential, and public-sector projects.

Mr. Hawthorne is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), is a member of its Board of Governors, and served as Chair of its Construction Law Committee. After more than three decades on the state and federal bench and after serving as chief judge for the 16th Judicial District Court and for the US District Court for the Western District of Louisiana in Lafayette, Judge “Dicky” Haik retired from the bench.

He now focuses on mediation services and court appointments as special master and arbitration matters. He served as trial court judge in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, served on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals by designation and is an AAA approved arbitrator.

Haik is uniquely qualified to serve as a mediator in all matters. He’s knowledgeable of the law and understanding of human nature, which make him a very effective neutral.
