Kimberly Edington announced her intent to run for Circuit Judge, Division 4 in the 16th Judicial District in the March 3, 2026 election. The 16th District covers Cleburne, Fulton, Independence, Izard, and Stone Counties. The current Circuit Judge, Tim Weaver, is not running for re-election.
“In my general law practice, I specialize in domestic relations, estate planning, adoptions, and guardianships. I currently serve as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for District and Juvenile Courts and deal with civil commitments. I have also been a Deputy Public Defender for both felony and misdemeanor cases in Circuit and Juvenile Court. I have had a great deal of experience with specialty courts including mental health court, veterans court, dwi court and drug court. I have been involved with over 1,000 cases in my legal career giving me a wide variety of legal experiences which, I believe, makes me a good candidate for Circuit Judge. I look forward to meeting the people of our district, explaining my qualifications, and asking for their vote and support.”
Edington received a BA degree from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, and a Juris Doctorate from the William H. Bowen School of Law. She is on the Board of Directors for the Family Violence Prevention, Inc, Legal Aid and Arisa Health Board and a member of Kiwanis Club. She recently received a Top Ten Under 40 Attorney Award for Arkansas.
Edington and her husband, Jason, have two young children. They are active members of the Ramsey Heights Baptist Church where she serves on the worship crew.
