Before You Sign: Contract Review for Bastrop Businesses

A handshake and a good reputation only go so far. For Bastrop businesses, the details in a contract often decide whether a deal protects you—or creates problems later.

A professional contract review looks for unclear payment terms, one-sided cancellation language, personal guarantees, missing deadlines, and clauses that shift risk onto your business. Catching those issues before you sign can save time, money, and stress.

Whether you are hiring a vendor, taking on a new client, leasing space, or partnering with another company, a second set of experienced eyes is worth it.

Ringel & Brymer is a local place to go in Bastrop County for practical contract review and business legal guidance.

POV: You’re having a terrible day at the office… then your supportive coworker slides through… 😂🔥 Henrietta is the most supportive, servant leader minded, office manger we have been blessed with …who is so dynamic she can also be spicy, fun and get fired up if the needed!

Crazy (but true) fact: Before we moved into our downtown Bastrop office on December 6, 2024, we actually DID have an office fire at our previous Bastrop location! The Bastrop Fire Department was incredible. 👏

One of our paralegals unfortunately got carbon monoxide poisoning while being a hero and saving a dog from the burning building… what a story! 😲

Looking back, now we can laugh — everything worked out, we got a beautiful new office, and the dog was fine.

The fire starter did get fired - the irony!

So you can take this as legal advice from Ringel & Brymer, PLLC - DO NOT START OFFICE FIRES!

🔥 That’s also common sense 🙄

What’s the wildest thing that’s ever happened at your workplace? 👇

Buying or selling property in Texas? One of the most common sources of later lawsuits is what the seller didn’t say.

Texas law generally requires sellers to disclose known material defects that a buyer wouldn’t reasonably discover on their own. Hiding or minimizing serious issues—foundation problems, prior flooding, unpermitted work, boundary disputes—can lead to claims for fraud or fraudulent nondisclosure.

Key points that matter: • Silence can be as actionable as a false statement when there’s a duty to speak

• “As-is” language does not automatically protect a seller who actively conceals known defects

• Buyers who discover problems after closing may still have remedies, including rescission or damages

Whether you’re a buyer who feels something was hidden or a seller facing a claim, the details of what was known, when it was known, and what was disclosed usually decide the case.

Questions about a real estate dispute or disclosure issue? We’re here to talk through it.
