Since 1971, Women’s Equality Day has been celebrated annually on August 26th, signifying the anniversary of the certification of the 19th amendment which granted women the right to vote.

Did you know that right here in Polk County, women in Florence Villa were allowed to vote in municipal elections before the 19th amendment took affect?

Voting is a right worth celebrating! This Women’s Equality Day, we encourage EVERY eligible voter in our community to participate in this integral piece of democracy!

For a child going through a challenging or uncertain time, something as simple as a soft stuffed animal can offer comfort, reassurance, and a sense of security.

That’s why we are collecting NEW stuffed animals to share with children and families at our Bartow Children's Advocacy Center, A Program of CHS!
