🚨 Tax Heads-Up for 2026 Paychecks 🚨
The IRS released new 2026 W-4 and W-4P forms, and yes… they affect how much tax comes out of your paycheck.
Quick breakdown ⬇️
✔️ Updates to credit calculations
✔️ New sections for tips & overtime
✔️ Clear option to claim exempt
✔️ Retirement withholding (W-4P) updated too

Why you should care
One of the top reasons people owe taxes is a W-4 that wasn’t filled out right.
This form controls how much federal tax comes out of every paycheck — so even small mistakes can turn into a surprise tax bill later 😬
⸻
Easy W-4 tips (keep this in mind)
• Married and both work? Choosing Single often works better
• Working more than one job? Check Box 2(c)
• Dependents = only claim what you truly qualify for
👉 Want a refund? Leaving this blank is okay
• Add extra withholding if you can
👉 Even $25–$50 per paycheck can make a big difference
⸻
My go-to recommendations
• Single, no dependents → Single + $50 extra
• Married, dual income → Single + $75–$100 extra
• Head of Household → HOH + $25–$50 extra
• Side hustle? → Add $100+ extra
⸻
💡 Rule of thumb:
It’s usually better to withhold a little more now than owe later.
