On June 16, 2026, Alliance President Jasmine Pope and her 2026-27 Executive Board will be sworn in!

President Pope is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in History, from Towson University.

President Pope was named in Super Lawyer Magazine as a Rising Star in 2025 and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility Section of the Baltimore County Bar Association.

She is also involved with the Monumental City Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, and is a Past President of the University of Baltimore Law Alumni Association.

We hope to see you there as the Alliance enters its next chapter 💜

The Alliance had the honor of presenting the Hon. Lyn Stewart-Mays with our 2026 Legacy Award at the Hon. Mabel Houze Hubbard Legacy Luncheon this past Saturday.

Judge Mays has served the legal community for over 25 years. Throughout those years, she has embodied what it means to , serving in various leadership positions and paving the way for those who come after her.

Women’s History Month may be over, but celebrating trailblazing women never stops.

Amy Sherald: American Sublime was truly unforgettable, powerful, and beautiful.

Amy Sherald received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2004. Sherald made history as the first African American to win the grand prize in the National Portrait Gallery’s Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. She is also the first Black woman to complete an official presidential portrait for the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery.
