As more tenants seek legal help, ACE-CIS is meeting the demand by connecting Maryland renters with critical legal services.

Demand for ACE-CIS services grew 29% over the past year, with 3,260 tenants referred to Maryland legal services organizations. Of those, 2,900 were accepted for representation.

With a 91% case acceptance rate in Q3 and an 88% average successful case placement rate over the year, ACE-CIS is connecting more tenants with the legal support they need to protect their housing and rights.

A month after launching the new MJP, we sat down with five users to hear their first impressions and, most importantly, get their honest feedback. The response was overwhelmingly positive! Since 2020, Civil Justice's Economic Justice Program has protected more than $750,000 in wages and savings for low-income Maryland families. But reductions in nonprofit funding have forced us to scale it back, and that means more Marylanders facing illegal debt collectors alone.

We're raising $50,000 to keep this work going, and our community has already pledged $13,000:

Anonymous Donor — $2,000
Anonymous Donor — $500

That leaves $37,000.
