NO LINES.
One of our greatest promotors of human equality left this world. Mother, attorney, daughter, wife, teacher, civil rights activist, feminine, determined, independent, beautiful, dedicated, mentor, human, and UNITED STATES SUPREME COURT JUSTICE , the personal journey of JUSTICE RUTH BADER GINSBERG has seen its end.
Known to many as an activist for women's rights giving our girls today less walls to overcome, she was truly an advocate of no lines for equality. No divisions or people placed in ticky-tacky boxes each having only particular doors open. NO LINES, NO LITTLE DOORS, NO WALLS.
Her first case was representing a man looking to have the same rights for pay as women did at that time as caretaker of his elderly mother. A most important incremental step.
She was known to say that you fight for what you believe in but make sure that you fight in a way that others will join you. That was her first case. In order for others to join her each considered decision, chosen fight, life moment was another opportunity to teach, another incremental step, with hope people listen. Her majority opinions on so many ground breaking court cases and her dissenting opinions on others were all teaching moments of why this issue was necessary to become law then or why the future should become her dissent.
She believed in NO LINES between gender, color, ethnicity. She believed in Humanity's right to equality in all respects. From the law, to the morality of all, to your neighbor next door, all should be treated as one, The right to the same opportunities without different impediments - to reach one's choice to be in the community and in our world as the best we wish to achieve.
One amazing journey for one amazing human. She broke those lines and we all benefitted. May she rest in peace and may we continue the intent of her journey.
