We are grateful to Supervisor for recognizing the work of , Martínez Aguilasocho Law, and the Vasquez Perdomo plaintiffs and attorneys who stood up against the DHS raids in Los Angeles County and the Central District.

We are proud of our team and our clients for choosing courage in the face of fear, and for insisting that dignity and due process still matter. At the same time, our hearts are heavy. Recent news of ICE killings is a stark and painful reminder that enforcement violence is not abstract, it costs real lives.

We honor those lives by continuing the work: defending our communities, demanding accountability, and standing together when it matters most.

- “A federal judge ultimately issued an injunction halting similar raids. Aguilas Ocho [sic] said the Kern County operation foreshadowed recent enforcement-related incidents in other states, including Minnesota and Oregon.

‘This was a foreseeable harm that was caused specifically by the Department of Homeland Security’s unlawful, unconstitutional raid in these communities,’ he said.”

Today marks a major victory for farm workers in New York. A New York Supreme Court judge has ordered Wafler Farms to implement the UFW contract it refused to recognize for months. The court confirmed that the arbitrator’s award was lawful, rational, and fully enforceable, and rejected every argument Wafler raised.

This is the first court decision in New York enforcing a UFW collective bargaining agreement under the Farm Laborers Fair Labor Practices Act. It sends a clear message that this law has real force and that agricultural employers must respect the rights and contracts that workers have won.

For too long, workers at Wafler Farms were denied the higher wages and better conditions guaranteed by their contract. Seasonal workers, including many from Jamaica, completed an entire season without the benefits they had earned while also dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa at home. This ruling clears the way for immediate implementation and for recovery of what is owed.

Martínez Aguilasocho Law has fought alongside the United Farm Workers to ensure that the new law is enforced and that farm workers in New York receive the same dignity and protection long denied to them. We are proud to stand with the UFW in this historic moment and will continue working until every UFW contract in the state is fully honored.

Si Se Puede.

Today, the California Court of Appeal threw out Wonderful Nurseries’ attempt to block the UFW’s Majority Support certification. The court held that employers cannot derail union recognition by rushing into superior court, and reaffirmed the strength of California’s farmworker labor law.

The UFW’s certification stands. The ALRB’s process continues. And workers’ right to choose their union is protected.

Proud to fight and win for the United Farm Workers. ✊🏽🌱

Martínez Aguilasocho Law is proud to represent the United Farm Workers in a federal class action lawsuit filed last night in response to the unlawful immigration raids terrorizing communities across Southern California. Filed by a coalition of organizations and law firms, the suit demands an end to ICE’s racial profiling, warrantless arrests, and inhumane detention practices. We stand with UFW members and all workers demanding dignity, safety, and justice.
