A peer-reviewed study analyzed six years of traffic fatality data alongside Spotify streaming records for the ten most-streamed album releases of that period. The finding was consistent, statistically significant, and survived every analytical challenge researchers threw at it.

The reason? Drivers searching for, selecting, and streaming new music while behind the wheel. It involves the same visual and manual distraction as texting. Most people just do not think of it that way.
