Matthew Fella was born and raised on the South Shore of Suffolk County, Long Island. He graduated from North Babylon High School in 1995 and received his Bachelor’s Degree from The Pennsylvania State University, with honors, in 1999. John’s University School of Law in Queens, New York where he graduated in 2002. His career began in 2002 at a boutique personal injury firm in Suffolk County, Long Is

land. Matthew’s tireless efforts and attention to detail helped him close hundred’s of cases to the benefit and satisfaction of his clients. Always able to maintain a personal/professional relationship with his clients, Matthew has excelled at being able to render "large firm" expertise and experience while fighting for his clients as a personal friend and representative. In 2008 Matthew opened his own law practice in Farmingdale servicing the entire Long Island community in a myriad of differing legal matters. He always kept his professional relationships and unwavering dedication to the profession which allowed him to not only focus on the needs of his clientele; but also to service the needs of other law firms. After four years he merged his firm with a larger Suffolk County firm and became the Managing Attorney. His legal experience and business experience have allowed Matthew to break all boundaries in business etiquette, legal proficiency and the main driving force behind this practice; helping others. Matthew’s desire to help others has led him to Babylon Village where he is able to focus more on peoples’ needs as individuals without being caught up in the business model of a larger firm which focuses on growth and finance and casts a shadow on helping others and problem solving. He now runs a boutique firm to listen and understand his clients and their needs and works vigorously at achieving the best possible outcome for his clients, friends, neighbors and business professionals alike. Matthew Fella continues to live on the South Shore of Long Island serving the legal needs of the community, Nassau and Suffolk Counties and the Greater New York Area. Born and raised as a Catholic he has found the ability to work in a profession often met by skepticism and untrustworthiness while helping people in any way that he can; whether legal counsel, community activism, common footing and/or a thread of kindness and understanding. Call anytime day or night with questions. The in-depth initial consultation will give you an understanding of your legal issues and possible resolutions; all for free. Fella’s promise to you. After your initial consultation, you will be given a clear understanding of what needs to be done, how your goal will be achieved, and approximately how much it will cost to get there. The Law Office of Matthew T. looks forward to helping you. Call now (631) 482-7808.

Got a ticket in Suffolk County? Please do not just pay it online and move on.

Here is what most people do not realize. Paying a traffic ticket is the same as pleading guilty. Once you do, your options are mostly gone.

A guilty plea can add points to your license, and your insurance company sees those points. That is where the real cost shows up, often for years, long after the fine is paid.

Many Suffolk County traffic tickets run through the Traffic and Parking Violations Agency in Hauppauge. You usually have more options there than the payment screen makes it look.

Before you pay, call me. It costs nothing to find out whether fighting it makes sense for your situation.

"I don't know if it's even worth calling a lawyer."

I hear that a lot. Usually from people who absolutely should call.

Here is the honest answer. You do not have to know whether you have a case before you pick up the phone. Figuring that out is my job, and it costs you nothing.

Call sooner rather than later if any of these are true. You were hurt, even if it seemed minor at first. An adjuster has already called you. You were a passenger in someone else's car. Or the accident happened out of state.

Why the timing matters. Evidence and details fade fast. Some injuries do not surface for days. And the first offer from an insurance company is almost always their lowest.

You are not bothering anyone by asking. That is what the free consultation is for.

Every one of these was a real person who called at a bad moment, not sure what to do next.

These are some of the cases I settled over just a few recent months. Different towns, different accidents, one thing in common. Someone got hurt, and someone needed a hand figuring out what came next.

A left-turn collision in Lindenhurst. A pedestrian hit in North Babylon. A motorcycle rear-ended in Plainview. A wrong-way crash in Melville. Rear-end cases, passenger cases, intersection cases, all over Long Island.

I do not share these to brag about numbers. I share them so you know that when something happens to you, this is not new territory. It is what I do, week in and week out.

If you were hurt in an accident, it costs nothing to find out where you stand.

Headed down to the Jersey Shore this summer? A lot of Long Island families are.

Here is something most people do not think about until it happens. If you get into an accident in New Jersey, your New York insurance, your New York doctors, and New Jersey law all end up in the same conversation. It gets complicated fast.

I am licensed in both New York and New Jersey. So if something happens to you on the Southern State or on the Garden State Parkway, it is the same phone call, and it is the same me answering it.

You do not need to know whether it is worth calling before you call. That is what the free consultation is for.

Rear-ended on Sunrise Highway? The first few minutes matter more than most people realize.

Here is what to do, in order.

Get somewhere safe and check on everyone. Then call the police, even if the damage looks small.

Take photos. Both cars, the plates, the road, and anything that hurts.

Say as little as possible, to the other driver and to any adjuster who calls you later. "I'm fine" is easy to say and hard to take back, because some injuries do not show up until days after.

Then call me. It costs nothing to find out where you stand, and you do not have to figure it out alone.

I am Matt Fella. I pick up day or night. (631) 482-7808. mfellalaw.com

When you're hurt, overwhelmed, and dealing with medical bills, the insurance adjuster's call sounds helpful.

They want to resolve things quickly. They have an offer ready.

Here's what they don't tell you: that first offer is almost always their lowest. And once you sign, that's it. No matter what you discover later about your injuries, you can't go back.

Insurance adjusters move fast on purpose. They want to close your case before you understand the full extent of what happened to your body — and before you talk to a lawyer.

What a car accident actually costs:
Emergency room visits: $5,000 to $10,000
MRI: $1,000 to $3,000
Physical therapy: months of sessions at $100 to $200 each
Surgery if needed: $50,000 or more
Lost wages while recovering

Don't let them decide what your case is worth.

Free consultation before you sign anything. Call (631) 482-7808.

I've worked at bigger firms. I know what they look like from the inside.

High volume. Lots of cases. Growth as the main metric.

In that environment, the clients who don't fit neatly into a process can get lost. The ones who need someone to actually listen, to actually explain what's happening, to actually pick up the phone.

When I opened my own practice in Babylon Village, I made a choice. Small enough to actually know my clients. Experienced enough to go up against anyone.

I'm not chasing volume. I'm chasing outcomes.

If you call my number, you get me. Not a paralegal who passes a message. Not a call center. Me.

That's the whole point of what I built here.

Whether it's a car accident on the LIE, a slip and fall at a Suffolk County business, or an injury as a passenger in someone else's vehicle — being hurt through no fault of your own is overwhelming.

The bills start arriving before you've had time to process what happened.

Here's what you should know:

The first call you make after an accident should not be to the insurance company. Their adjuster is trained to minimize what they pay you. They move fast for a reason.

Document everything you can. Photos of the scene, the damage, the conditions. Get a report filed wherever the accident happened.

See a doctor as soon as possible. Even if you feel okay. Adrenaline masks pain. Many serious injuries don't appear immediately.

And call a lawyer before you sign anything or give a recorded statement.

This is what I do every day for Long Island families. If it happened to you, let's talk.

If you were a passenger in a car accident, you have legal options most people don't know about.

Here's what every passenger should understand:

You can seek compensation even if you didn't cause the crash. You have no fault in the accident regardless of which driver was responsible.

The driver's insurance should cover your injuries first through New York's no-fault coverage.

If that coverage isn't enough, additional options may be available through the other driver's policy or your own.

You have the right to choose your own attorney. Not the one the driver suggests. Not the one the insurance company recommends. Your own.

Someone else's mistake shouldn't cost you financially. Period.

If you were injured as a passenger in a car accident on Long Island, the consultation is free. The information is yours to keep.
