Friends, Family, and the Next Generation đź’›

Those words have been rattling around in my mind after two wonderful long weekends: one visiting a longtime friend and her family in Portland, and another meeting new family in Utah.

Both trips were so fulfilling. I spent time with some of my favorite people and got to know their kids a little better, too. There’s something really special about watching the next generation grow and building our own connections with them.

These moments bring home why estate planning matters to me. Behind every plan are people we love, relationships we treasure, and a wish to make things a little more secure for those who come after us.

Feeling especially grateful for those people, and those connections, this week.

On Sunday, I completed the Portland Half Marathon!! 13.1 miles, months of preparation, and a finish line I was very happy to see.

I got to share the day with a dear friend I hadn’t seen in several years, which made it especially meaningful.

Training was a practice in making time, starting again after interruptions, and taking the next manageable step. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to do it, and grateful to the people who encouraged me along the way.
