Came out to The Lake Club to watch my husband in The Greatest Golfer tournament. Such a beautiful course. The landscaping and the flowers are GORGEOUS! Highly recommend checking out this course, getting a membership and enjoying the benefits!

Most people think Realtors just unlock doors and collect a commission.

Until they realize those commission checks only exist if the transaction actually closes.

Imagine working with a buyer for 2 months...

showing homes nights and weekends...

answering calls at 10pm...

spending money on marketing, gas, photos, open houses.....just for the transaction to blow up 3 days before closing.

And in this business you don’t get paid for effort.

You only get paid if everything comes together.

No guaranteed paycheck waiting on Friday.

The agents I respect most aren’t just “selling houses.”

They’re managing emotions.
Solving problems nonstop.

Keeping nervous buyers/sellers calm.
Keeping transactions alive when everyone else is ready to walk away.

A lot of people would quit after 90 days in this business.

Pressure doesn’t build great agents overnight.

But it definitely exposes who can handle it.

And don’t worry, I CAN handle it.

What people think buying a house looks like:

• Find a house on Zillow
• Tour it on Saturday
• Make an offer
• Close in 30 days
• Post the keys on Instagram

What actually happens:

• Get pre-approved.
• Realize your budget is different than you expected.
• Search for months.
• Fall in love with homes that aren’t the right fit financially.
• Write an offer.
• Lose to stronger competition.
• Write another offer.
• Navigate terms like escalation clauses, appraisal gaps, and contingencies.
• Finally get an offer accepted.
• The inspection uncovers unexpected issues.
• Reassess your options.
• Your lease is ending soon.
• Your agent is sending listings early because every day counts.
• You realize there isn’t a “perfect” house—just the right one for this chapter.
• Closing gets delayed because underwriting needs one more document.

Then…

You get the keys.

Maybe there’s no perfectly staged Instagram photo.

Just relief.

Because after all the uncertainty, you’re finally home.

The truth is, buying a home in 2026 can take patience, flexibility, and the right strategy. Not every buyer experiences every hurdle, and some transactions are surprisingly smooth. But being prepared for the possibility of bumps along the way makes it much easier to handle them when they come.
